Savannah Russell MSTOM, L.Ac | she/her
Savannah is an acupuncturist and clinical herbalist who wants to share the profound healing benefits of Chinese medicine with her community. Her journey with Chinese medicine began when she took a Wilderness First Responder certification course. During a short hike into the forest to do a mock rescue, one of her classmates began to have an asthma attack. The woman’s inhaler was left in the car so another classmate quickly jumped into action and began doing acupressure on her neck and back. Within seconds, she was breathing normally again. Savannah went home, did a deep dive into acupuncture research, and decided this was the path she wanted to follow.
Savannah received her Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (now Pacific College of Health and Science) in San Diego. During her time in school, she was fortunate to do several incredible internships at locations such as Rady Children’s Hospital and the Owen Clinic at UCSD, as well as onsite with supervisors specializing in gastrointestinal disorders, pain, and women’s health. Savannah has a special interest in working with digestive health, mental-emotional health, and pain.
Savannah is licensed in the state of Colorado and is a recognized diplomate of oriental medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Her training includes acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, cupping, guasha, moxibustion, and nutrition.
When Savannah is not with patients, she enjoys spending time with her partner, Andy, cycling, climbing, paddling, and hiking, curling up with their cat, tea, and a book, or gardening with the chickens.
Voo, Marketing Assistant
Voo is the sweetest boy who just wants to help Savannah with whatever she is doing. He came into Savannah and Andy’s life in October 2017 when Andy found him in Vedauwoo, WY. He was cold, hungry, and scared, but Andy gave him some food, wrapped him up in a blanket, and brought him home. They tried to find his owner, but after a month of fruitless searching, he became part of their family.
Andy was often out of town for work so Savannah and Voo became two peas in a pod. He is quite the mama’s boy and loves to do whatever Savannah is doing whether it is working on the computer, reading a book, or working in the garden. He even has a special trait of being seemingly hypoallergenic as many friends and family members who are highly allergic to cats have no reaction to him.
His main hobbies are sleeping, eating, playing with shoelaces, watching over his chickens, and modeling.
“I’ve never felt as comfortable with a health professional as I do with Savannah! She is very knowledgeable and truly gifted! She helped me with my severe neck and shoulder tension, and struggles with sleeping. I leave my appts with her feeling refreshed and happy! I highly recommend her! Even if you aren’t a believer in acupuncture, give her a try! You won’t be disappointed!”
